#ThrowbackThursday: Tyrese Edition

Tyrese Gibson I suppose if you say that name to someone  all they will think of is 2 Fast 2 Furious Transformers, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, Fast Five, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon and Fast & Furious 6.

That’s fair cause the brother has been getting busy with the bright lights of Hollywood which is only a good thing. He did cult classics like Baby Boy and Four Brothers. But Tyrese aka Black Ty (yeah he does his thing on a rapping tip) is one of those genuine throwback R&B artists.

My older cousin got me into listening to Tyrese, as she fell in love with him after that Coca-Cola advert:

I just thought dude was some guy showing off that he can sing. But then he dropped the album Tyrese, on there is a gem called Sweet Lady (fellas learn the words ASAP).

That’s when I started to take him seriously and I’ve remained a fan since,  Rese has mad in his 13 year career in music.

In my humble opinion one of the best R&B albums of the past 6years has to be his 2011 release Open Invitation. If you like that long play ear satisfying album, I recommend you get Open Invitation.

Tyrese latest album with fellow TGT members Tank and Ginuwine is available now, until that next solo album Black Rose drops.

We salute you Rese, from the studio to Hollywood.

Tyrese - Sweet Lady

Tyrese - How You Gonna Act Like That

Tyrese - Signs Of Making Love
