"He's the Jay-Z of the south" Pharrell Williams.
"Some niggas wonder what my goal is, they think it's goin gold havin hoes sweatin me, F**k that, I'm in it for the longevity, picture me as one of the greatest that'll ever be, compare me to, Tupac, B.I.G., and Jay-Z, work with legends like, Organo, I.Z., and J.D. Neptunes, they even flow on one of Dre's beats, fly to Miami, chill with Luke and we can trade freaks” – T.I. – I’m Serious
I respect TIP because whether you agree or not, he called himself King Of The South from early? He wanted to be classed one of the greatest after just his first album.
He's been flying the flag for the South for a decade and more now. All success he is experiencing, has been well earned.
Lately I've been on a re-up vibe with certain artists debut albums on my iphone. Recently Reasonable Doubt, College Dropout, Get Rich Or Die Tryin', Diplomatic Immunity and TIP's I'm Serious and Trap Muzik.
Maybe didn't appreciate those two albums as much then as I do now, but those albums are the ish. "I'm Serious", "Dope Boyz", "What's Yo Name","Doing My Job", "Rubberband Man" and "24s" still favorite cuts.
T.I. - Rubberband Man
That album gave birth to some "Trappers". Eight albums deep, let's just say TIP just bangs out anthems. Check out Trap Muzik, King and Paper Trail arguably are the albums that rubber stamped what TIP is about.
