April 26th 1994 a rap duo called Outkast dropped what is now labelled a classic album called Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. I'm a huge 'Kast supporter, I still regard them as the best rap group in Hip Hop (I know about Wu-Tang x Clipse x Bone Thugs x Dipset etc......).
Four albums later (do we count Idlewild as an album or soundtrack?) and we haven't had any Outkast since 2006.
In all honesty that's kind of f**ked up the game not having any Outkast albums to look forward to. Plus Big Boi has released two solo albums since, Dre is doing his movie thing.
The more vocal of the two Big Boi has stated he is always ready to do the Outkast thing when Dre is ready, but Dre counters that with "You liked Outkast back then, that don't me you'd like us now".
With Dre always dropping these let's just enjoy the run Outkast had whenever asked, I was pretty happy to just listen to the old albums on my phone (benefit of having 32gb) then the internet was flooded with these via Big Boi's instagram......
April 26th 2014 will mark the 20th anniversary of Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik,and the rumoured Coachella performance to mark this.
Am I happy?
