The Day Of Happiness #HappySoundsLike

I saw this article in the Metro and I had to get involved. The United Nations began The Day Of Happiness in 2012. Reason being the UN believes "the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal".  The UN have enlisted the likes of John Legend, Ed Sheeran, Charlie XCX and more to create the "World's Happiest Playlist" for tomorrow.

So far John Legend has chosen Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up", Ed Sheeran has selected "Independent Woman" by Beyonce and them, even the UN's secretary Ban Ki-moon has given us "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by the great Stevie Wonder. The project is being put together by streaming service MixRadio.

Everyone can get involved and share their playlist via MixRadio using the hashtag #HappySoundsLike. So below are five songs I listen to at least once a week and get me nice, no matter what has happened with Manchester United results or the British weather. In no particular order:

Music: Hip Hop NEEDS this (and me)

April 26th 1994 a rap duo called Outkast dropped what is now labelled a classic album called Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. I'm a huge 'Kast supporter, I still regard them as the best rap group in Hip Hop (I know about Wu-Tang x Clipse x Bone Thugs x Dipset etc......).

Four albums later (do we count Idlewild as an album or soundtrack?) and we haven't had any Outkast since 2006.

In all honesty that's kind of f**ked up the game not having any Outkast albums to look forward to. Plus Big Boi has released two solo albums since, Dre is doing his movie thing.

The more vocal of the two Big Boi has stated he is always ready to do the Outkast thing when Dre is ready, but Dre counters that with "You liked Outkast back then, that don't me you'd like us now".

With Dre always dropping these let's just enjoy the run Outkast had whenever asked, I was pretty happy to just listen to the old albums on my phone (benefit of having 32gb) then the internet was flooded with these via Big Boi's instagram......

April 26th 2014 will mark the 20th anniversary of Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and the rumoured Coachella performance to mark this.

Am I happy?

Interview: Big Boi on Outkast 20 year anniversary

Man c'mon gentlemen PLEASE make this happen. Rap and Hip Hop still need you!! I've said it once and I'll say it again, in my humble opinion Outkast are the best rap group ever!

Interview: Andre 3000

Interview: Big Boi "Outkast can happen"

I rock to The Diplomats, Wu-Tang, Clipse, S.A.S. etc....
But the best hip hop group ever in my eyes is Outkast
This interview therefore makes me happy
