Live: Grammy's 2014 - Beyonce x Kendrick Lamar x Daft Punk

So last night the music world's version of the Oscars took place in sunny LA. A who's who was there (Ri Ri and Ye you got some explaining to do) to take in the whole weekend activities then the award showpiece.

Twitter was popping off, and I geniunely feel it's events like this that prove why Twitter will last long then FB in the long run. Cause it's super funny with the memes, commentary and quick with the info.

Daft Punk were the toast of the town cleaning up. The French duo won "Record Of The Year" "Best Pop Duo/Group" "Best Dance/Electronica Album"

Lorde also won a big one on the night ("Royal" winning Song Of The Year??). Anyway as always there are performances that still the show and these two had Twitter going ape shit.
Daft Punk x Pharrell x Nile Rodgers x Stevie Wonder - Get Lucky
The Carters opened the show and I repeat, Blue with have a brother and sister before the year is over. And Mr.Lamar well he is just doing it crazy.

Beyonce X Jay Z - Drunk In Love

Interview: Vibe Magazine x Dame Dash - My Philosophy

Vibe Magazine caught up with Dame and got his thoughts on many things, as the title would suggest "My Philosophy" this is a good guest to get on board. Many things are discussed in this three part interview.

As a fan of Dame, I'd suggest you check out an interview he did earlier in the year on the Combat Jack Show.

#ThrowbackThursday - Jay Z Edition

Jay Z - Live In Hackney 2012

So yesterday was Jay's birthday + today is thursday, so it only makes sense he gets the Throwback Thursday treatment.

What more can I say about Jay (see what I done there?), If you know me you'll know who I class as the best rapper and the best rapper alive. It's very obvious as they're both from Brooklyn so I don't need to go into detail.

But let's get into this, how does Jay rate his current catalogue of solo albums he's released?

1. Reasonable Doubt (Classic)
2. The Blueprint (Classic)
3. The Black Album (Classic)
4. Vol. 2 (Classic)
5. American Gangster (4 1/2, cohesive)
6. Magna Carta (Fuckwit, Tom Ford, Oceans, Beach, On the Run, Grail)
7. Vol. 1 (Sunshine kills this album…fuck… Streets, Where I’m from, You Must Love Me…)
8. BP3 (Sorry critics, it’s good. Empire (Gave Frank a run for his money))
9. Dynasty (Intro alone…)
10. Vol. 3 (Pimp C verse alone… oh, So Ghetto)
11. BP2 (Too many songs. Fucking Guru and Hip Hop, ha)
12. Kingdom Come (First game back, don’t shoot me)

That's how he rates them although Vol.3 had some nasty records with and Premo (gentlemen can we get some records please). This is just part one of Throwback Thursday for Jay, cause you know he got like a million videos, so until part two.......

Jay Z - 99 Problems

Happy Birthday Hov

Happy Birthday Hov!

Jay made this announcement on his blog last night:

"Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way," he starts.

"On December 3rd, one day before my 44th birthday I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!!

"This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a “plant-based breakfast” everyday. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought…"

"Why now? There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas day…It just feels right!"

"So you can call it a spiritual and physical cleanse. I will post my progress… Any professional vegans out there that have any great food spots please help out! Please ha. I don’t know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We’ll see…"

Good luck with the 22 vegan journey, alot of people including myself have done it. It's easier than you think just need variation of recipes.

Best Rap verse of all time is..............

So one of my favorite artist Ye took to Twitter three days ago to open up a debate, this tweet sent Twitter into overload like when a certain Mr.Carter did a recent Q&A:

Kanye West - New Slaves

Kanye West - New Slaves (2nd verse)

I throw these Maybach keys
I wear my heart on the sleeve
I know that we the new slaves
I see the blood on the leaves
I see the blood on the leaves
I see the blood on the leaves
I know that we the new slaves
I see the blood on the leaves
They throwing hate at me
Want me to stay at ease
F*** you and your corporation
Y’all n****s can’t control me
I know that we the new slaves
I know that we the new slaves
I’m ’bout to wild the f*** out
I’m going Bobby Boucher
I know that p***y ain’t free
You niggas p***y, ain’t me
Y’all throwing contracts at me
You know that n****s can’t read
Throw ‘em some Maybach keys
F*** it, c’est la vie
I know that we the new slaves
Y’all niggas can’t f** with me
Y’all niggas can’t f*** with Ye
Y’all niggas can’t f*** with Ye
I’ll move my family out the country
So you can’t see where I stay
So go and grab the reporters
So I can smash their recorders
See they’ll confuse us with some bulls***
Like the New World Order
Meanwhile the DEA
Teamed up with the CCA
They tryna lock n****s up
They tryna make new slaves
See that’s that privately owned prisons
Get your piece today
They prolly all in the Hamptons
Braggin’ ’bout what they made
F*** you and your Hampton house
I’ll f*** your Hampton spouse
Came on her Hampton blouse
And in her Hampton mouth
Y’all ’bout to turn s*** up
I’m ’bout to tear s*** down
I’m ’bout to air s*** out
Now what the f*** they gon’ say now?

That's the best verse ever in Ye's eyes, ears, mind etc..... He did put in the tweet "I open the debate" Below are just a few, there are like a million more and I'm aware of that. But I've just gone for some of the top of my head that have and will stand the test of time.

Jay Z x Rihanna x Kanye West - Run This Town
BP3's lead single Run This Town was highly anticipated, Jay kept it in the family with Ri Ri on the hook and Ye with a verse. Ye's verse though.............

Kanye West – Run This Town
It's crazy how you can go from being Joe Blow
To everybody on your dick, no homo
I bought my whole family whips, no Volvos
Next time I'm in church, please no photos
Police escorts, everybody passports
This the life that everybody ask for
This a fast life, we are on a crash course
What you think I rap for, to push a fucking Rav-4?
But I know that if I stay stunting
All these girls only gon' want one thing
I could spend my whole life "Good Will Hunting"
Only good gon' come is as good when I'm coming
She got a ass that'll swallow up a g-string
And up top, uh, two bee stings
And I'm beasting off the riesling
And my nigga just made it out the precinct
We give a damn about the drama that you do bring
I'm just tryin' to change the color on your mood ring
Reebok, baby, you need to drop some new things
Have you ever had shoes without shoe strings?
What's that 'Ye? Baby, these heels
Is that a May, what, baby, these wheels
You trippin' when you ain't sippin', have a refill
You feelin' like you runnin', huh, now you know how we feel

Puff Daddy ft Busta Rhymes and The Notorious B.I.G. - Victory
Biggie had an upset stomach and just shitted all over this track from Puff's 7 million copy debut album.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Victory
In The Commision, you ask for permission to hit em
He don't like me, him and wild wifey was wit em
You heard of us, the murderers, most shady
Been on the low lately, the feds hate me
The son of *Satan*, they say my killin's too blatant
You hesitatin, I'm in your mama crib waitin
Duct tapin, your fam destiny
lays in my hands, gat lays in my waist
Francis, M to the iz-H phenominal
Gun rest under your vest by the abdominal
Rhyme a few bars so I can buy a few cars
And I kick a few flows so I can pimp a few hoes
Excellence is my presence, never tense
Never hesitant, leave a nigga bent real quick
Real sick, brawl nights, I perform like Mike
Anyone -- Tyson, Jordan, Jackson
action, pack guns, ridiculous
And I'm, quick to bust, if my ends you touch
Kids or girl you touch, in this world I clutch
Two auto-matoes, used to call me fatso
Now you call me Castro, my rap flows
militant, y'all faggots ain't killin shit
Ooops Cristal keep spillin shit, you overdid it homes
You in the danger zone, you shouldn't be alone
Hold hands and say it like me
The most shady, Frankie baby, fantastic
Graphic, tryin to make dough, like Jurassic
Park did quick to spark kids who start shit
See me, only me
The Underboss of this holocaust
Truly yours, Frank White

Jay Z ft Eminem - Renegade

Ok Em's 1st verse on this track. That's all folks

Eminem - Renegade
Since I'm in a position to talk to these kids and they listen
I ain't no politician, but I'll kick it with 'em a minute
Cause, see, they call me a menace, and if the shoe fits I'll wear it
But if it don't, then y'all'll swallow the truth, grin and bear it
Now who's the king of these rude, ludicrous, lucrative lyrics?
Who could inherit the title, put the youth in hysterics?
Using his music to steer it, sharing his views and his merits
But there's a huge interference: they're saying you shouldn't hear it
Maybe it's hatred I spew, maybe it's food for the spirit
Maybe it's beautiful music I made for you to just cherish
But I'm debated, disputed, hated and viewed in America
As a motherfuckin' drug addict - like you didn't experiment?
Now now, that's when you start to stare at who's in the mirror
And see yourself as a kid again, and you get embarrassed
And I got nothing to do but make you look stupid as parents
You fuckin' do-gooders, too bad you couldn't do good at marriage
And do you have any clue what I had to do to get here? I don't
Think you do, so stay tuned and keep your ears glued to the stereo
Cause here we go, he's Jigga, Jigga
And I'm the sinister Mr. Kiss-My-Ass, it's just the

The Notorious B.I.G. - Who Shot Ya
Frank White's 1st verse!!

The Notorious B.I.G. - Who Shot Ya
Who shot ya?
Seperate the weak from the ob-solete
Hard to creep them Brooklyn streets
It's on nigga, fuck all that bickering beef
I can hear sweat trickling down your cheek
Your heartbeat soun like Sasquatch feet
Thundering, shaking the concrete
Finish it, stop, when I foil the plot
Neighbors call the cops said they heard mad shots
Saw me in the drop, three and a quarter
Slaughter, electrical tape around your daughter
Old school new school need to learn though
I burn baby burn like Disco Inferno
Burn slow like blunts with ya-yo
Peel more skins than Idaho potato
Niggaz know, the lyrics molestin is takin place
Fuckin with B.I.G. it ain't safe
I make your skin chafe, rashes on the masses
Bumps and bruises, blunts and Landcruisers
Big Poppa smash fools, bash fools
Niggaz mad because I know that Cash Rules
Everything Around Me, two glock nines
Any motherfucker whispering about mines
And I'm, Crooklyn's finest
You rewind this, Bad Boy's behind this

Mobb Deep - Shook Ones pt.II
Prodigy just drops that sh*t from the jump.

Prodigy - Shook Ones pt.II
I got you stuck off the realness, we be the infamous
you heard of us
official Queensbridge murderers
the Mobb comes equipped with warfare, beware
of my crime family who got nuff shots to share
for all of those who wanna profile and pose
rock you in your face, stab your brain wit' your nosebone
you all alone in these streets, cousin
every man for theirself in this land we be gunnin'
and keep them shook crews runnin'
like they supposed to
they come around but they never come close to
I can see it inside your face
you're in the wrong place
cowards like you just get they're whole body laced up
with bullet holes and such
speak the wrong words man and you will get touched
you can put your whole army against my team and
I guarantee you it'll be your very last time breathin'
your simple words just don't move me
you're minor, we're major
you all up in the game and don't deserve to be a player
don't make me have to call your name out
your crew is featherweight
my gunshots'll make you levitate
I'm only nineteen but my mind is old
and when the things get for real my warm heart turns cold
another nigga deceased, another story gets told
it ain't nothin' really
hey, yo dun spark the Phillie
so I can get my mind off these yellowbacked niggas
why they still alive I don't know, go figure
meanwhile back in Queens the realness is foundation
if I die I couldn't choose a better location
when the slugs penetrate you feel a burning sensation
getting closer to God in a tight situation
now, take these words home and think it through
or the next rhyme I write might be about you

Cassidy x Lil Wayne x Fabolous - 6 Minutes Of Death

At 1:40 Cassidy introduces Fab, this is in my opinion still one of the best verses Fab has laced in his career.

Fabolous - 6 Minutes Of Death
Your goddamn right I'm feeling myself
A chauffeur no sir, I'm wheeling myself
Looking for a chick chilling for self
So I can show her the suicides and talk her into killing herself
I'm having problems dealing with wealth
But you wouldn't understand it, until you get a million yourself
You niggaz must've got a deal for your health
Your cd is frozen food, it just chills on the shelf
I spend big, at any time I can start splurging
The twin cigs open chests like a heart surgeon
And I'm buttoned up, I'm just a blue collar crook
But I keep a stack thick as few college books
I got a new polished look
And twenty dime bitches, to show y'all niggaz how my two dollars look
The boy's got at least six digits on
So the guns gotta be at least midget long
The money, is like ten bridges long
I throw bread around just to turn pigeons on
I got some good smoke just for puffers
The two grand twenty's make the hustlers suffer
Plus it's fluffer, than a cotton ball
I've gotten calls wanting me to put the pot in malls
But nowadays you can't put it past 'em
I got a Dan Marino arm, I'm bout to throw some bullets past 'em
And the niggaz in the hood keep quoting my lines
I don't jump ship I keep floating in mine
Long as I keep toting I'm fine
I'mma have these dick sucking niggaz deep-throating the nine
I jumped in the English ship, Benzed whip
It's Terminator 2 chrome the engines dip
I'm reading scripts no, not the penmanship (no)
The box-office shit (yeah), I box off this bitch (yeah)
Jessica Alba, Kirsten Dunst
And still make a mil' off the first of months
These dudes be the first to front
'Til they family and friends is in limos, they in hearse in front
I'm in the top position, I can make you a proposition
I'm in the hard top waiting on the drop edition
To hell with the patience
I'mma send a nigga down under like Australia vacations

Nas ft Jadakiss x Ludacris - Made You Look (remix)
In my humble opinion one of the best remixes ever to be unleashed in the world off hip hop. Nas verse is nice, Luda's verse is loco BUT Jadakiss verse "I helped the game, it ain't help me, I'm top five dead or alive and that's just off one LP"

Jadakiss - Made You Look (remix)
Yo ain't nothin but trouble God
When I kick in the door with D-Block, Bravehearts and the Double R
Don't make me let the machine off
This is methadone music that you can lean off
"Made You Look," the remix with me up on it
I copped your shit, now I break weed up on it
And everything is real I see
Like my niggaz that been home but they only got a jail ID
I helped the game, it ain't help me
I'm top five dead or alive and that's just off one LP
And, I still buzz, they feel cuz
Cause they know the flow's Ill just like Will was
I'm just tryin to make sure that my sons wealthy
Out of shape but I make sure that my guns healthy
I'm a ape, you can't stand 'Kiss
Comin through the hood in a Aston Vanguish the color of dandruff
They said we jumped him, I just let the gun snuff him
Copped P then turbo'd soon as they uncuff him
This goes out to all of your mans
Why put you in the verse when I can put in a coroner van, D-Block.

Outkast ft Raekwon - Royal Flush

Andre 3000 - Royal Flush
Styles will change. They say change is dang-erous
As a King standing on the terrace
While his partner pointing up at the riflemen
Coward shooter, never know when your life will end
Then live like there ain't no 'morrow
And if one come then this the motto
Now I put message in bottle
You go to the nearest beach and open your car door
And walk to the place where the sea meets the land
Yeah, it's easier to run the street than walk in the sand
Hey, I'm talking young man. As if chalk in my hand
I will take y'all little ass to school
It's cool when the kids call me Sunny, the hood calls me Stacks
The B's call me honey, Hollywood calls me back
Crack and I have a lot in common
We both come up in the 80's and we keep that bass pumping
That's a nega-tive comparison, embarrassing
Unfortunate that if you come up fortunate the streets consider you lame
Ha, I thought the name of the game was to have a better life
I guess it ain't. What a shame
I don't slang. Never slung but I'm one with the slum
That has a name well fitting, plenty cheese getting
No wonder why they call it the trap, so watch your tail
And I'm not kidding, the rats and mice will give advice
They say, "you can paint and draw, get out of here
Go show them that we're more than slanging raw."
That's when I broke into my Big Rube impression
And I tried to enlighten but that night I learned a lesson
That the morals that you think you got go out the window
When all the other kids are fresh and they got new Nintendo Wiis
And your child is down on her knees praying hard up to God
For a Whopper with cheese
Do you B) hit the street hard with a flair
Or do you A) go to school for heating and air?
Dare make an honest living or make a crooked killing
Or do a bit of both until you're holding on a million?
Brilliant. You got one foot in, one foot out
You put your left foot back in and then you shake it all about
You do the hokey pokey til you turn your life around

That's what it's all about. 3000 out

Jay Z - Can I LIve

In reagrds to sales Hard Knock Life vol.2 is still the album that brought Jay to the masses. But Jay himself says in his career top three albums are 1.Reasonable Doubt 2.Blueprint 3. The Black Album. This track is one of my favourite Jay tracks ever. So I had to choose this verse.

Jay Z - Can I Live
While I'm watchin every nigga watchin me closely
my shit is butter for the bread they wanna toast me
I keep my head, both of them where they supposed to be
Hoes'll get you sidetracked then clap from closed feet
I don't sleep, I'm tired, I feel wired like codeine, these days
a brother gotta admire from four fiends away
My pain wish it was quick to see, from sellin 'caine
til brains was fried to a fricaisse, can't lie
At the time it never bothered me, at the bar
gettin my thug on properly, my squad and me
lack of respect for authority, laughin hard
Happy to be escapin poverty, however brief
I know this game got valleys and peaks, expectation
for dips, four percent pertation we stack chips, hardly
The youth I used to be, soon to see a mill'in
No more, Big Willie my game has grown prefer you call me William
Illin for revenues, Rayful Edmonds like
Channel 7 news, round seven jewels, hand gettin the mic
Forgettin all I ever knew, convenient amnesia
I suggest you call my lawyer, I know the procedure
Lock my body can't trap my mind, easily
explain why we adapt to crime
I'd rather die enormous than live dormant that's how we on it
Live at the main event, I bet a trip to Maui on it
Presidential suites my resedential for the weekend
Confidentially speakin in codes since I sense you peekin
The NSX rental, don't be fooled my game is mental
We both out of town dog, what you tryin to get into?
Viva, Las Vegas, see ya, later at the crap tables
meet me by the one that starts a G up
This way no fraud Willie's present gambling they re-up
And we can have a pleasant time, sippin margaritas
Ge-ge-geyeahhh, can I live?
Can I live?

2Pac x Outlawz - Hail Mary
Pac wasn't playing around!

2Pac - Hail Mary
I ain't a killer but don't push me
Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting pussy
Picture paragraphs unloaded, wise words being quoted
Peeped the weakness in the rap game and sewed it
Bow down, pray to God hoping that he's listening
Seeing niggas coming for me, to my diamonds, when they glistening
Now pay attention, rest in peace father
I'm a ghost in these killing fields
Hail Mary catch me if I go, let's go deep inside
the solitary mind of a madman who screams in the dark
Evil lurks, enemies, see me flee
Activate my hate, let it break, to the flame
Set trip, empty out my clip, never stop to aim
Some say the game is all corrupted, fucked in this shit
Stuck, niggas is lucky if we bust out this shit, plus
mama told me never stop until I bust a nut
Fuck the world if they can't adjust

It's just as well, Hail Mary

Noreaga x Nature x Big Pun x Cam'Ron x Jadakiss x Styles P - Banned From TV
Everyone delivers!!

Main Source ft Nas - Live At The BBQ
Young Esco!

Nas - Live At The BBQ
Street's disciple, my raps are trifle
I shoot slugs from my brain just like a rifle
Stampede the stage, I leave the microphone split
Play Mr. Tuffy while I'm on some Pretty Tone shit
Verbal assassin, my architect pleases
When I was twelve, I went to hell for snuffin Jesus
Nasty Nas is a rebel to America
Police murderer, I'm causin hysteria
My troops roll up with a strange force
I was trapped in a cage and let out by the Main Source
Swimmin in women like a lifeguard
Put on a bulletproof nigga I strike hard
Kidnap the President's wife without a plan
And hangin niggaz like the Ku Klux Klan
I melt mics till the sound waves over
Before steppin to me you'd rather step to Jehovah
Slammin MC's on cement
Cause verbally, I'm iller than a AIDS patient
I move swift and uplift
your mind shoot the gift when I riff in rhyme
Rappin sniper, speakin real words
My thoughts react, like Steven Spielberg's
Poetry attacks, paragraphs punch hard
My brain is insane, I'm out to lunch God
Science is dropped, my raps are toxic
My voicebox locks and excels like a rocket
